Since its establishment in 1976, AHSTI has provided affordable homes to approximately 2,800 families acrosss South Texas. We are certified by the County of Hidalgo and the City of McAllen as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) and by the U.S. Department of Treasury as a Community Develoment Financial Institution (CDFI) and Community Development Entity (CDE).

We are governed by an 18-member Board of Directors and staffed by a knowledgable 18 member housing development team. Awards and recognitions include the Terrence R. Duvernay HOME Program Award of Excellence from the National Commnuity Development Association, as well as National recogition from the Fannie Mae Foudation (James A. Johnson Community Fellowship Program)
