It was last September when Ricardo and Maria Isabel Fernandez realized that they were in need of a home for their growing 4 year old daughter and their 2 year old son. They were fortunate to find out about Affordable Homes through a friend. After doing their research and looking at AHSTI’s programs, they submitted their application.

Their road to affordable homeownership began 3 months later when they were scheduled for a prequalification appointment in December. They were happy to find out that they qualified for AHSTI’s new construction program. On January 12, their application was approved by the AHSTI Loan Committee. Mr. and Mrs. Fernandez immediately attended a 1st time Homebuyers class offered by AHSTI on January 16 which gave them the necessary tools to begin their journey into responsible Homeownership.

Two days later the Fernandez family found themselves selecting a lot and choosing the materials to be used for their new 3 bedroom 2 bath home to be built at the new Las Vistas Subdivision in San Juan. They are looking forward to moving into their new home which is scheduled to be complete within the next 3 months. We wish this growing family many happy memories in their new home!
