CONSTRUCTION FAQ'S

Q: How long does it take to build my house?

A: Typically it takes about 90-120 days for the construction on the home to be completed. This does not mean that the house is ready for closing. You still need to complete a walk-through and AHSTI will fix any deficiencies you may find and then your file will be sent to Lending to prepare for closing.

Q: What do I get to choose on my house?

A: AHSTI is not a custom builder, but there are a some items you have choice of such as brick, facia paint color, tile or carpet and elevation. Depending on what you choose, some items may incur an extra charge.

Q: Can I paint the walls after I move in?

A: Yes. Once you close on your home, you can paint the walls any color you like.

Q: What kind of warranty does my house have?

A: Your AHSTI home will include the 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. The 10 year insurance-backed structural warranty provides 10 full years of coverage for qualified structural defects from the day of closing. The table below shows the different warranties you have on your home.

Q: Does my grass have warranty?

A: Unfortunately the grass does not have warranty. Brown discoloration is normal when grass is first installed.

Q: I have noticed some hairline cracks in the wall, is that covered under warranty?

A: Hairline cracks are normal. As time passes, the house settles and sometimes hairline cracks appear. If you can fit your pinky finger inside the crack then give us a call at 956-687-6263 and we will head out there to inspect (cracks on sidewalk or driveway are not included).
